Be the First Line of Support: Mental Health First Aider Training

Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) play a vital role in recognizing, supporting, and responding to mental health challenges in the workplace. This accredited two-day training course equips individuals with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to provide immediate support to colleagues, encourage open conversations, and promote a culture of wellbeing​.

Led by experienced mental health professionals, this training goes beyond theory, offering real-world strategies and practical exercises to ensure participants can identify early warning signs, offer initial support, and guide individuals toward professional help when needed​.

Course Structure

How This Course is Structured

This two-day, expert-led training combines interactive discussions, real-world scenarios, and practical exercises to build confidence in handling mental health challenges. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of mental distress, provide initial support, and signpost individuals to professional help​.

The course is designed to be engaging and immediately applicable, ensuring that MHFAiders® leave with the tools needed to create a mentally healthy and supportive workplace​.

What types of mental health training do you offer?

Whether you’re looking to train dedicated Mental Health First Aiders and Suicide First Aiders, or equip managers with mental health skills, we have a course to suit your needs​.

Are your courses accredited?

Yes, all our courses are fully accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health Skills for Managers are created by MHFA England, and are based on research and developed by mental health experts alongside people with lived experience of mental ill health. Our Suicide Prevention courses are created by The National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training – the UK’s leading international provider of assured suicide prevention education.

How long do the courses take?

We have training options to suit a range of timescales and budgets. The Mental Health Awareness, Mental Health Skills for Managers, Suicide First Aid Lite and Suicide First Aid for Heavy Industries are half-day courses. The Suicide First Aid and Suicide First Aid for Heavy Industries are one-day courses. The Mental Health First Aider course is two-days.

Can I book training for my entire team?

Yes! We offer whole group training sessions for businesses, or you can book for one or several colleagues to join participants from other organisations. We also limit group sizes to a maximum of 16 people to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment​.
